Swedish astronaut Christer Fuglesang returned home to earth on September 11, 2009 from a very successful mission to the International Space Station.
Performing a record two spacewalks and moving tons of supplies and science equipment Christer Fuglesang again made it into the record books. Christer is now the only astronaut outside the US and Russia to have ever performed more then three spacewalks. Christer now has performed five!
Imint enhanced the video showing his return to earth using our unique real-time video enhancement software Ihvert®.
The landing is pretty steep. From MACH 1 at 30.000 feet to standstill in less than four minutes. The two calls "on at the 180" and "on at the 90" denote that capt Sturkow is exactly on target in the Heading Alignment Circle or HAC. The HAC is a 10 km tall cylinder that they dive down to get to the runway (or "field" if you have a navy guy at the stick). Plt Ford deploys the gear just seconds prior to touch down.
